WORK ASSURANCE

Can this work start — and can you show why?

Work Assurance is the connected process around the work: what is being done, who is doing it, where it is happening, what applies, what is outstanding and who is authorised to decide. Bringing that picture together can reduce the time spent chasing and reconciling readiness information.

ONE is designed to confirm missing task facts before ONE AI prepares controlled outputs, keeping the source and citation history available for review. Important information that cannot be safely confirmed must stop or require review. See the source-to-output pathway →

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Work Assurance asks a bigger question than: do we have a document?

WHAT THIS IS

Work Assurance is the connected view of whether the people, task, workplace, controls and evidence needed for the work are actually in place.

WHY IT MATTERS

A current SWMS, JSA/JHA, SOP, Work Instruction or other work document does not automatically mean the worker is inducted, the permit is active, the plant is ready or the required evidence is complete.

ONE IN PRACTICE

ONE brings the relevant prerequisites together so the authorised person can see what is ready, what needs attention and why before deciding what happens next.

THE CONNECTED ASSURANCE PATHWAY

One task, from proposal to close-out.

  1. 01

    Propose the work

Establish the task, workplace, people and known information.

  2. 02

    Prepare what applies

Identify the relevant work documents, controls, permits, inductions and competency requirements.

  3. 03

    Check readiness

Bring preparation, acknowledgements, verification and unresolved requirements into view.

  4. 04

    Record the human decision

Authorised people decide on acceptance, authorisation and release where required.

  5. 05

    Start and monitor

Undertake the work. Report hazards or changing conditions, stop where necessary, and review affected decisions.

  6. 06

    Complete and close

Record completion, resolve post-task and permit close-out matters, and retain the evidence.

Different events. Clear authority. Worker or supervisor acknowledgement is separate from organisational acceptance and release. AI recommends; authorised people decide.

THE CATEGORY ONE IS BUILDING

Work Assurance is the intelligence between paperwork and permission to work.

Safety paperwork can tell you what should happen. Work Assurance asks the harder operational question: is everything that matters for this particular work actually in place now — and can the organisation show the basis for the decision?

DOCUMENTS

What controls the work?

SWMS, JSA/JHA, SOP, Work Instruction or another verified document can describe the work and controls that apply.

READINESS

What else must be true?

People, competency, permits, inductions, plant, pre-starts, critical controls and evidence can change whether the work is actually ready.

AUTHORITY

Who can decide?

ONE can surface and explain the position. The authorised person makes the Work Clearance, acceptance or release decision.

ONE INTELLIGENCE

Same work. Different context. Different answer.

ONE is designed to adapt the pathway to the task, industry, jurisdiction, workplace rules and verified requirements — rather than forcing every organisation into the same generic form.

01TASKUnderstand the work.

Start with what the person is actually going to do.

02CONTEXTKnow where the work sits.

Industry, jurisdiction, workplace, people, plant and client requirements can change the pathway.

03REQUIREMENTSUse verified authority.

Apply the right legal and workplace language only when the applicable source is known.

04PATHWAYRecommend what fits.

Choose the appropriate document, checks, prerequisites and evidence — without hiding uncertainty.

GLOBAL FRONT DOORSimple language first.
LOCAL LEGAL INTELLIGENCEJurisdiction-specific duties when known.
TRUST RULEIf ONE is not sure, it tells you.
ONE READINESS STORY

Bring the prerequisites into context.

ONE is designed to connect the information that can affect whether the task should proceed.

THE TASK

What are you going to do?

The controlled task source is the anchor for applicable documents, hazards, controls and workflow.

THE PEOPLE

Who is doing it?

Surface applicable competency, training, licence and assessment prerequisites in context.

THE WORKPLACE

What is different here?

Bring local induction, access and client or principal-contractor requirements into view where applicable.

THE CONTROLS

What must be in place?

Connect permits, plant, pre-starts, critical controls and evidence to the same task.

THE DECISION

Can this work start?

Show unresolved reasons clearly, then keep the authorised human decision separate from the system finding.

THE EVIDENCE

What happened then?

Preserve what was required, what was done, who did it, when and what changed.

WORK ASSURANCE THROUGH THE WHOLE TASK

Work Assurance should not stop at “yes, you can start.”

Readiness can change while the work is underway, and the task still needs a controlled end. ONE keeps the start, change, stop/review, completion and close-out stages connected.

01BEFORE WORK

Are the prerequisites ready?

Task, induction, permit, people, plant, checks and evidence contribute to the current readiness picture.

02DURING WORK

What changed?

Hazards, control failures, permit changes, plant defects or changed conditions can reopen the assurance position.

03WORK COMPLETE

Worker signals completion.

ONE records the completion event and starts the relevant post-task and permit close-out pathway.

04CLOSE-OUT

Can the task be closed?

Outstanding actions, post-task checks, handover, permit closure and verification remain visible until the required close-out is complete.

CONTROL

AI helps. Authorised people decide.

ONE can analyse, connect, recommend and explain. It does not turn a recommendation into approval, hide missing information or take authority away from the people responsible for the decision.

AI recommends → people decide → ONE records. If the answer is not known, ONE keeps that uncertainty visible until it is resolved.
01 · AI ASSISTS

Find what needs attention.

Draft, compare, connect and explain the information relevant to the work.

02 · HUMAN AUTHORITY

The decision stays with people.

Work Clearance, acceptance and release remain controlled actions by authorised people.

03 · ONE RECORDS

Keep the basis for the decision.

Record who decided, when, what information was considered and the relevant evidence.

04 · UNKNOWN STAYS VISIBLE

No false certainty.

Missing, unsupported or changed information stays visible rather than being treated as ready.

FROM TASK INFORMATION TO START WORK

The worker should know exactly what happens before the job starts.

ONE separates understanding the task, checking today's conditions and actually starting work. That keeps the worker experience simple while preserving a clear record of what happened and when.

01REVIEW THE TASK

See what matters for this work.

The Worker App view brings together the released task information, key hazards and controls, required PPE, permits or inductions, stop-work conditions and other instructions relevant to that worker.

02READY TO BEGIN

Confirm the information has been reviewed.

The worker selects I'm ready to begin. ONE records that the worker has reached the readiness stage and immediately moves them into the applicable pre-start process. It does not mean work has started.

03PRE-START

Check the task as it exists today.

ONE presents the task-specific pre-start questions and can prompt the worker to complete them. A failed check, changed condition or missing item stays visible and can hold the work for review rather than being ignored.

04WORK CLEARANCE

Bring the readiness picture together.

Applicable people, competency, induction, permit, plant, pre-start, critical-control and evidence information is brought together so the authorised person can make the required Work Clearance decision.

05START WORK

Record the real commencement.

Only after the applicable checks and authorised Work Clearance pathway are satisfied does the worker select Start work. ONE then records the actual start time and moves the task into active work.

TWO BUTTONS. TWO DIFFERENT EVENTS.

I'm ready to begin starts readiness. Start work starts the task.

This distinction prevents a worker's first acknowledgement from being mistaken for the actual commencement of work and creates a clearer evidence trail.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions about this part of ONE.

Open only the question that matters to you.

Is Work Assurance just another document?

No. Work Assurance is the connected process around the work: what is required, what is current, what is missing, what changed, who owns the next action and what evidence remains.

What happens when something changes during the task?

ONE should keep the change inside the active task. A hazard, failed control, permit issue or other material change can create an Action Required state, notify the responsible supervisor, line manager or authorised person, and pause or stop affected work where needed. The issue is not complete when the notification is sent: it stays open through acknowledgement, assessment, action, re-evaluation and the worker's clear Continue / Remain paused / Ready to resume outcome.

Does Work Assurance end when the job starts?

No. ONE follows the work through active-task changes, Work Complete, post-task checks, permit close-out and final Task Closed status.

I still have another question. What should I do?
